PHILOSOPHY

A vision

We want to advance the relationship between work and health in everyday life so that it benefits the worker, the economy and society. We combine the necessary knowledge to solve problems in a concrete way and are alert to the emergence of new realities that have a direct or indirect influence on occupational health.

A mission

To improve occupational health the well-being of men and women by means of research, prevention, promotion and training. The strength of our institute lies in its ability to establish a balance between health and work, between theory and practice, between solutions and research. As a result of this all-encompassing approach, we became the leading centre for competence in occupational health in Switzerland.

Our values

Suitability: our projects respond to occupational health problems of today and tomorrow.
Human dimension: nothing should be excluded from occupational health; our topics should not be outrun by events, trends or new realities.
Interdisciplinarity: our staff reflect the whole range of disciplines concerned with occupational health. They work together to find innovative solutions adapted to the workplace.
Independence of mind: we employ the most appropriate scientific methods, the most targeted data and we respect ethical principles by conviction.
Partnership: we accomplish our objectives in partnership with industry, workers, representatives of the authorities as well as the scientific and professional communities at a national and international level.
